    Levels of Disaster

Post  rogue tactical on Sat Dec 03, 2011 12:34 pm

Global major event beyond your control.
National still large event could be any think from weather to terrorist.
Regional something that affects your county or region but the rest of the country can still function.
Local this could be riots as seen this year or weather based or any of the above.
Personal this is one we have the most control over could be a job loss car breakdown assault etc.

You make a great point here Nick. An individual event is one thing. It's quite another something more large scale. Such as a riot. Weather is another excellent one. Wasn't it last Christmas, or the one before - with the bad winter? Snow, etc. The whole country was running low on food within a matter of days. Just shows how precarious things are.

Yeah we had snow this time last year hopefully if you start small for yourself maybe increasing your food supplies to start this can be a great start. Also buying when there are offers on can start to save you money.

Definitely stocking up is great. It's all about being prepared. Most definitely not about being some nutter with a camo headband, haha. there is absolutely no point in wishing one had prepared during a serious event. Or even after.
